Thank You for a Great Picnic!

Many thanks to all of you who came out to participate in our annual Labor Day Weekend Picnic. While it was a bit wet, we still had great fun and enjoyed good food! We appreciate all the delicious potluck items you contributed.

There are some people who deserve special mention for going above and beyond to make this event happen.

First and foremost, thank you to Katie Lee Sullivan and Carol Benoit (Stiffler), the OLHCA social coordinators, for planning and organizing such a wonderful event. We’d also like to thank all of the board members who loaned items and came out to lend a hand during set up and tear down.

Large events like this require a team effort, and you all stepped up!. We give thanks to community members Aung Shep and Dan Vess for grilling; Scot and Rosemary Romoser for purchasing, storing and transporting all of our burgers, dogs and buns; Carolina Hurtado, Bob Herrick, Dave Aronson, Coz Adams, and Jaime Faria for all-around help where needed; and CCH Pool Manager Joe Budzynski for accommodating our event at the pool’s field. We’re sure there are names we’ve missed in this list, and if that’s you, know that we are thankful for your contributions-- every little bit helps!

We’d also like to give a special shout-out to our sponsors:

And another round of thanks goes to the special appearances by:

  • The City of Fairfax Police Department

  • The City of Fairfax Fire Department

  • Mayor David Meyer, Councilmember Tom Ross, and Councilmember Sang Yi

For everyone who was able to attend, please let us know if there is anything we can do to improve for next year by sending your suggestions to oldleehills@gmail.com.

For photos of kids playing with inflatable balls bigger than their bodies, people enjoying refreshing snow cones, alpacas and bunnies cuddling with humans, our firefighters and police having a good time with the community, and neighbors getting a chance to chat and relax, keep scrolling!
