Board Elections –Vote– Happy Hour
As outlined in our OLHCA Bylaws, we will have an annual meeting in May, where we will elect the OLHCA Board for June 2022 - May 2023 and vote on bylaw changes.
Saturday, May 7
Meeting 4:00 – 6:00 pm at Chubby Squirrel, with catered food and drinks. We will hold the election and bylaws vote at this time. Food will be served in the covered patio and children are welcome.

Vote on Revision to Bylaws
The OLHCA bylaws were last revised in 2019. Now, in anticipation of a potential name change to Old Lee Highway, a new draft is proposed. The proposed revision is a new Article, Article XIII. With Article IX, it establishes a process to decide on changing the name of Old Lee Hills neighborhood. These are the applicable excerpts - Article IX is an existing article and included here because it is referenced by the new Article XIII.

ARTICLE IX - ACTS OF THE OLHCA BOARD
Section 1. Except as otherwise provided for in these bylaws, Acts of the OLHCA Board are made official by the vote of the majority of the Board members present and voting at the Board meeting.
Section 2. Special committees of the OLHCA may be established and their membership appointed with an Act of the Board.
ARTICLE XIII - NOMENCLATURE
Section 1. The Board may facilitate conducting a vote to decide whether the neighborhood name will be changed and, if so, to choose a new name. Facilitating includes communications, oversight of voting procedures, logistics, and expenditure of membership dues. The Board involvement in facilitating requires an Act of the Board, per procedures in Article IX, Acts of the OLHCA Board. The Board will conduct its facilitation in accordance with the following procedures:
1.1 The Board shall collect input on names. The Board shall decide the final list of proposed names according to the procedure in Article IX, Acts of the Board.
1.2 Voting shall be in person, by secret ballot.
1.3 All neighborhood residents 18 years and older are eligible to vote.
1.4 The Board shall schedule three dates and times for in-person voting.
The dates and times may coincide with Board meetings or Membership meetings.
The dates, times, and locations for voting will be announced to all residents of the neighborhood at least 7 days in advance.
1.5 The vote will be decided by simple majority.
1.6 The Board will announce the results of the vote to all residents.
Section 2. The Board may act according to the procedures in Article IX, Acts of the OLHCA Board, to change the name of the Association. The Board shall announce the new name to all residents.
